Castles Galore
Arriving a day after them we were greeted with a lovely picnic on the river with local cheeses, breads and vino. What more could we have asked for.
Carcassonne and the surrounding area are known for the castles. With a spiffy BMW hire car and a driver (Mr Burns) we ventured out and to visit some of the most amazing castles perched high upon high mountains. At least we got to work off a little bit of the cheeses we consumed and we learnt how to open a bottle of wine (with cork) without a wine opener.
The only other thing to do on the trip was to play Carcassonne in Carcassonne next to the castle. But alas we could not as some person (Mr Burns) forgot to bring it! Oh well...next time maybe?
If you want to see some panoramic piccies go to Matt and Inga's page:
